چکیده

Study was aimed at assessing the role of apoplastic invertase in synchronization microtuber formation potato plants vitro. A non-transgenic (Solanum tuberosum L.) (hereinafter nonTPs) and a line plants, which expressed SUC2 gene Saccharomyces cerevisiae encoding localization under control B33 promoter patatin TPs), used to achieve this purpose. Cell divisions axillary meristems single-node cuttings were synchronized by exposing 7°C for 24 h MS medium (without agar). After low-temperature, (LTS) proportion simultaneously dividing cells nonTPs four-fold greater than without chilling. The LTS did not change number TPs. contributed an increase mass size microtubers both lines. All physiological maturity. At same time, TPs physiologically immature, with high glucose content. During tuber formation, activity acidic invertases higher that nonTPs. Microtubers larger nonTPs, more hydrated low starch amount. Propably accumulated may act as signal trigger cell division. It indicates regulatory function sugars. plays negative production identical age.

Vacuolar Invertase Gene Silencing in Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Improves Processing Quality by Decreasing the Frequency of Sugar-End Defects

Sugar-end defect is a tuber quality disorder and persistent problem for the French fry processing industry that causes unacceptable darkening of one end of French fries. This defect appears when environmental stress during tuber growth increases post-harvest vacuolar acid invertase activity at one end of the tuber. Reducing sugars produced by invertase form dark-colored Maillard reaction produc...

Ultrastructural and physiological responses of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plantlets to gradient saline stress

Salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses that impacts plant growth and reduces the productivity of field crops. Compared to field plants, test tube plantlets offer a direct and fast approach to investigate the mechanism of salt tolerance. Here we examined the ultrastructural and physiological responses of potato (Solanum tuberosum L. c.v. "Longshu No. 3") plantlets to gradient saline stres...

Characteristics of the Inhibition of Potato (Solanum tuberosum) Invertase by an Endogenous Proteinaceous Inhibitor in Potatoes.

Effect of several parameters on inhibition of potato (Solanum tuberosum) invertase by its endogenous proteinaceous inhibitor was determined using homogeneous preparations of both proteins. The inhibitor and invertase formed an inactive complex with an observed association rate constant at pH 4.70 and 37 degrees C of 8.82 x 10(2) per molar per second and a dissociation rate constant of 3.3 x 10(...
